10,000 hours

There is this rule of 10,000 hours, if you practice your craft for this many hours then you'll be a master at what you do.  Well, with or without the title, I've decided to calculate my hours of drawing over the next 10 years to 10,000 hours.  Yes, big goal, but I must be honest, I'm a type A personality that loves to produce, so I'm up for the challenge.

Here is my first drawing.

  2. Hi Suzanne,

Yes, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star or superstar, has very kindly allowed me to take back over my blog. Gosh! :)

Just wondering how long it took you to calculate it would take you 10,000 hours. Your first drawing is superb and most revealing :)

Kind wishes from Leek, England :)

    1. I figured out about 10 years drawing 4 days per week at 3 or 4 hours per day. I love the idea of taking something to the limits and seeing what happens. Thanks for your lovely comment!!!
Sending warm wishes to Leek and you and of course Penny!!! :)

  3. Yes Suzanne but it takes more than 10 000 hours to produce real art...and that is talent. You've got plenty of that...Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee how about a nude, I like this one but I want a vibrant one with powerful colors...I thought maybe you had one and you'd share it with us. Kisses.

    1. Funny, I was thinking, just today, that I would paint a large female nude in vibrant colors. I'm not kidding I was really just thinking this today. I do love when synchronicity occurs. This I can and will do very soon.
Thanks for your wonderful compliment!!! Kisses to you too :)

  4. Suzanne, your dashes are soft and natural. I agree with you, setting goals is important, because the challenge is what makes us move on.
