Creativity in Charcoal
I love drawing in all mediums, pencil, charcoal and pen. I was asked by Petronela http://unikorna.blogspot.ca/ if I had any charcoal images, but I must admit charcoal isn't something that I've mastered. The material feels awkward to use, so details can be more difficult to articulate when getting exact ideas across on paper. This image is in charcoal and something I did in school. The object is of a skeleton, something that I've always found fascinating, not only for its form, but for the metaphor or death.
I enjoy feeling the different cycles within life, the transformations that allow us to grow and expand into someone who we never thought we could become. I feel close to this image for my life has shown me, so many dramatic changes within myself that if I were to image twenty or even five years ago who I would be, I would not have been able to comprehend the transformation. Die to the old and allow yourself to bloom into who are you becoming.

Hats and more......
These are all the wonderful ladies who came to celebrate my Mom's birthday. My Mom is the lady sitting in red with the white hat.
The day was so much fun, a lot of laughter, a lot of food and especially birthday cake!!!

Seagull Summer
I live in a low rise apartment park that is very close to the ocean, so we have many seagulls flying around the city. At this time of year, the seagulls are nesting and have found a place on our rooftop to care for their babies.
I remembered these photos that were taken about 4 years ago from another home I lived in. This particular seagull would fly onto my balcony everyday for a couple of months. I sometimes would feed him (I think it was a male???), but he wasn't very interested in the food.

Most of the time he would just come to visit. I would sit at the window and look at him as he was looking at me. And occasionally I would get a picture of his cute little gestures. I really enjoyed having this neighbor during my time in this place. This post is to celebrate all sweet seagulls.

Something old revisited
I'm starting to go into my inner world once again. The feminine within wants a voice, to be taken away from the world of material consumption, so I listen. This painting was sold a number of years ago, but it is still a part of me. I love the echo of words that seem to scream for attention. Perhaps another painting will birth itself in the near future.

Local Artists
I do love the summer, the sun, the outdoors, and the art. I was out walking this afternoon and came upon some children' chalk drawing that I found just adorable. I had to share them.
I call this one -
"Sailing the Stormy Seas"
Brian created this drawing.
I call this creation -
"Love and Flowers"
This one was a really big drawing.
I call this drawing-
"Sea Monster and the Stair Case"
Title -
"Two birds at Sea"
George created this masterpiece, so I'm going to call it - "George"
