A Feminine Container

I've read in various books that in ancient times pots were considered the feminine energy.  Each was used to receive and hold, which is similar to when a women is pregnant.  I found this information very interesting.  I also found pots and vases wonderful to draw for each with its beautiful circular shapes that remind me of a woman' body.  This is one of my favorite pots.

In Celebration of Autumn

I love the leaves of Autumn, watching them, walking through them, and of course drawing them.  The red maple are my favorite for the brightness of each hue that speaks of such richness.  I found this leaf while out on a walk, so I'm sharing with each of you.  Enjoy!!!!

I'm still committed to my 10,000 hours, so there are a back log of drawings that I'll be posting each day.  I do love this process, which allows be to become more intimate with each subject that I draw.

Hat with a Halloween Flare

I thought a new hat would be a great idea for Halloween.  A co-worker, Seul, and myself thought up this design, even though it did turn out a little different than planned.  I put an orange little object to look like a pumpkin and a purple spider (still not sure about the spider ????), but its definitely a fun hat not to be taken to seriously.   I feel happy wearing it!!!

Hanging Out

I was asked to do a female nude drawing from Petronela.  I really enjoy drawing and painting nudes, but it was my first time rendering a figure in a long time and it did feel a bit awkward.  Then the background did not work out, so I cut the figure out.  :)  Now I can put her anywhere and see how she fits into different environments.  The portable nude just hanging out on many different levels.  LOL!!!  I love a little humor when it comes the female nude as she is portrayed so serious most of the time.

10,000 hours

There is this rule of 10,000 hours, if you practice your craft for this many hours then you'll be a master at what you do.  Well, with or without the title, I've decided to calculate my hours of drawing over the next 10 years to 10,000 hours.  Yes, big goal, but I must be honest, I'm a type A personality that loves to produce, so I'm up for the challenge.
