A Pair of Pears

I love rendering the shape of pears.  The form reminds me of a woman's body with all our wonderful curves.  I decided to create a study with black and white and with color.

Miki

I work at a store with very sweet people.  The work can be demanding, but my co-workers make up for it.  Miki was working with us, but will be returning to Japan.  The photo was taken while we were out for lunch.  I loved drawing her portrait!!!  I want to do more rendering of people at work, so I hope that they will let me.  Perhaps surprise photos!!! :)

My book is published!!!

I just picked up my book in printed form on Halloween!!  Trick or Treat!!!  Well, I would like to say my book is a treat, but perhaps some of my work will play a trick on your mind.

It turned out so cute in a size of 5" x 7", easy to carry.  I've already sold two copies and feel so happy that I can share myself with others in a soft and intimate way.  I appreciate all your support with such wonderful comments and compliments about each poem.  Thank you!!!

Love those lips

I'm always attracted to parts of the face or body that seem to be a odd or out of place or just over proportioned.  I'm not much of a star fan, nor do I put much emphasis on fame, but Angelina Jolie's lips are one of those attributes that I love to draw.  To create that depth on the face and give the fullest to her lips with pencil is a very interesting process when drawing.

A Feminine Container

I've read in various books that in ancient times pots were considered the feminine energy.  Each was used to receive and hold, which is similar to when a women is pregnant.  I found this information very interesting.  I also found pots and vases wonderful to draw for each with its beautiful circular shapes that remind me of a woman' body.  This is one of my favorite pots.

In Celebration of Autumn

I love the leaves of Autumn, watching them, walking through them, and of course drawing them.  The red maple are my favorite for the brightness of each hue that speaks of such richness.  I found this leaf while out on a walk, so I'm sharing with each of you.  Enjoy!!!!

I'm still committed to my 10,000 hours, so there are a back log of drawings that I'll be posting each day.  I do love this process, which allows be to become more intimate with each subject that I draw.
