Finding my Muse

I have canvases sitting off to the side in my apartment.  I've been looking at them, but feeling little of no inspiration to touch any of the surfaces.  Lately, my focus has been with writing, creating a colorful world with words instead of paint.  I've just finished my first novel and when I get back from my trip I'll be putting it on line.

Enough about me, I wanted to post an image from my trip to New York City.  I went to so many galleries and was completely connected to my muse.  One artist that always connects me to my artist soul is "Lucian Freud".  His portraits bring such honesty through figurative work.  I saw the following painting at the Museum of Modern Art.

The next image is a close up of the same work.  To really feel this work, you have to see all the texture on the surface.  This piece takes me right inside this person, what he is feeling and into the raw nakedness of life.

I will be leaving on my trip soon and won't be posting for awhile, but I will have some wonderful pictures to share and hopefully inspire your inner muse!!!

Paris

I'm going to be leaving for Paris in the next month!!!  I'm very excited about my trip and have been talking with friends about what I'm going to be doing while in the big city.

A dear friend sent me this photo of the Eiffel Tower made from bacon.  I thought the idea to be very funny.  I don't know if there is any symbolic meaning for using bacon, but the meat does add an interesting flavor  to the piece. :)

Perhaps a few eggs with your Eiffel Tower????

Selling slowly, but surely

I'm finding that belief and perseverance are the ingredients for success.  My poetry book is selling in smaller quantities, but the people buying are wonderful heart felt individuals who are enjoying my words.  My intention is to write from my heart and attract people who will relate and love what I'm putting into words.

I have 3 other books that I'm working on.  One is a novel, one is a love story, and the other is more poetry.  I love to write and find myself moving more towards this way of expression.  My intention is to create full time, but until that happens I will love every part of my life.  It is wonderful to see the slow and gradual changes that occur on a daily basis.
